Stack Overflow Destroys Software Developers

I’ve long had a love/hate relationship with Stack Overflow. I love it for the great answers I find there, but I feel less charitable about the way it seems to make people act. Overall, it seems to be a net positive, but there are many, many downsides, proving yet again that there are many awful people out there.

Why Do Many Developers Consider Scrum to Be an Evil Scam?

I don’t have a love/hate relationship with Scrum. I mostly hate it. I’ve written about my disdain. This article does a good job highlighting what Scrum is “supposed to be” (and never is) vs. what it ends up being. He proposes a solution, but I’m not optimistic.

Apple Is Reportedly Planning to Allow Outside App Stores on iPhones & iPads

This was, to me, the most underrated tech story last week. This is kind of huge and will have an impact in many ways — not the least of which is the effect it will have on individual app developers, who stand to make more money (or at least have Apple take less of it…)
