Heroku is removing the free tier
The article is short and to the point: Heroku is removing its free tier. This is a curious decision. I’m sure they had their reasons, but it seems like a bad idea. Developers expect that free tier, and I suspect this will spell the end of Heroku.
On Estimates
Estimates have always puzzled me. They are always wrong. Even if you know they are wrong, you can’t be sure whether they are too short or too long. It always seemed strange to me that we’d spend so many hours trying to perfect something that isn’t perfectible and never will be.

Developer Experience is a hot buzzword, and for good reason. “Getting things set up” is a big time sink, and if you can make that smooth and straightforward, you can save everyone a lot of time. This article does a good job of explaining the whole thing.
